LONDON: Face to face course

London venue in West Finchley (on the northern line tube

Tuesday 21st May 2024 9.30am to 2.30pm GMT.

This class is for improvers with an understanding of millinery terms and more experienced milliners.

Crinoline is such a versatile fabric it can be used just as effectively for trimmings. Its waterproof and can be worn throughout the year. Denise shows you how to work out how much crinoline to use in the depth of a frill, how to use moulding techniques for the crinoline and how to use  crinoline for finished hat. Ideas will be talked about and examples will be shown. See pictures.

Denise is the expert about manipulating and sealing crinoline/netting and has proved that this style and use of fabrics is a triumph on a hat. Denise will show you how to create trimmings using this versatile fabric. Trends and shapes for the current season are covered.

Course tutor, Denise Innes-Spencer is an experienced qualified teacher and a regular staff writer for ‘The Hat Magazine’. She is creative director and founder of The British School of Millinery and recently co-founded of The British Millinery Association.

This five-hour class is designed to make you fall back in love with crinoline.

Denise Innes-Spencer, has had a fraught relationship with this fabric in the past but, after working closely with designers who love this fabric, she has learned to love it too.
